An Epic update

Last week was insane! I hardly tended to my Etsy store as I was gearing up and preparing for my super scary and important departmental presentation. Also I had my Thea's trunk show the night before which compounded the stress, not to mention my boyfriend telling me that he will not be graduating this year, again. I think I was mostly stressed out my the latter then the first two issues.

Thea's Trunk show on Thursday was a new experience, I've never had a trunk show before and true to be told, I was rather awkward! I'm not a huge seller type of personality and having to interact with my potential customers just made me lock up and walk nervously around the shop. I only sold one that night but I'd like to thank all my friends that made it out to check out Thea's! It really means alot to me. Here are some photos of Thea's Interior:

I was too stressed out about the following day's presentation to really enjoy the trunk show which was a pity. However, Thea was delighted in the new pieces that I've been doing so I got to refresh the Muntedkowhai collection in her shop. When I got home, my head started hurting so bad but I still had to go through the presentation because the practice run through was horrid. Utter embarrassment! Scenarios ran through my head where I make an utter fool of my self in front of everyone at work. You know how when you dread something, you always think to yourself, oh it'll be all over by this time tomorrow. I can relax. I just wish it was a few minutes after the presentation now, it'll be all over. I had that feeling allll week long. Friday morning, I drove to work and while in the car, ran through my notes and presented in my car. I do not recommend this.

What do you know. The presentation went off without a hitch, I surprised myself as to how smoothly it went! I was elated!! I was able to answer questions and did not stop and hesitate at even one slide! Now I'm feeling really relieved and glad that things are back to normal per se.

Just to give you an idea as to how stressed I was, on Saturday, I woke up with not one but three cold sores and a canker sore! Oh the humanity! It hurts to eat and speak and there went my weekend. I, however, was not going to let one cold sore get in my way of enjoying my non craft Saturday. I went to get my much needed hair cut at Roberts of Portland, it was my first time and boy they're good! My hairdresser was so awesome, she taught me how blow dry my bangs so that they were nicely side sweapt and not just hanging at the side. After the hair cut, Corrine and I had some drinks and snacks before heading over to Elia and Hilary's christmas party. It was nice to catch up with Elia and Hilary again, it seems like we hardly hang out. She made some awesome punch though! She soaked cucumber into her vodka with some cranberries and it tasted so refreshing! I did not take any photos as I will assure you that no photos will look nice with 3 cold sores in it.

Today, I made a few new pieces for my Muntedkowhai shop and even though I was a bit tired to get started, they are done. I even did my first non crochet necklace because I found a piece of left over velor cream ribbon from somewhere.

"Aotearoa" Necklace

Blog readers, help!!

Ok, so when I finish a motif, my next step is to find a button that suits it. I finished the following grey motif and I wanted to pair it with red floral buttons but I can not decide which way I want to orient the piece! So in your opinion.. which way should the motif be? Meaning, should I chain the motif by the two crochet flower end or by the pointy end of the next photograph?

I recently learned about your blog and Etsy shop and really enjoy your work! It is very inspiring for a newbie crocheter like me. I have yet to take the leap into freeform, which I've been wanting to do for many months now...I'm not sure what's holding me back. The grey piece to me feels more naturally positioned when the buttons are towards the bottom. Whithout chain, they remind me of fairy wings, probably because I was raised by a mother who always made miniature fairies. :)
