Curly Admiral- work in progress

Is it like really weird that I did not know what pieces I wanted to showcase for the Forecast Fashion Show until yesterday (aka a week and one day before the show) ?! Or even more stressful that I did not make anything until yesterday... I knew I wanted something big, a statement piece so that it would not get lost on the runway. I wanted something very different from what I've been doing, something ultra modern and feminine, perhaps an art piece in its own right. So, I came up with this design that is not finished and will require another day or so of full concentrated work:
Akin to wisteria draped over one shoulder. This piece is made of varying lengths of curly Admiral motifs in either oyster gray, offwhite or mauve grey colours. The non treated state of the motifs make them curl which I think gives it a really unique look, much like the ruffles that are making a come back. The necklace is going to be chained with bold copper chains but I don't know how it'll look as a finish product, it's part of the excitement!!

Which reminds me, if you're in Portland and you're free on the 26th of April:

Hey Tiff! This is Audrey--I tagged your bum at the Cut & Paste event last month lol. I stumbled across your site on Etsy and wanted to tell you that I love your work! The new ruffly necklace thing has my heart beating. I <3 ruffles.

Good golly gosh! That is looking really beautiful! I love those soft colours together. The necklace reminds me of the foam on the crest of a wave, sort of. Mmmm.
