Seattle

Some not so happy tulips at pike place

My head is full of Immunology and it is so bizarre to be surrounded by science talk 24/7. Yesterday the line up of talks were not really up our alley so after reading some posters, Yuhuan (my co worker) and I strolled around Seattle. Nothing exciting as she is of a different age and our interests are so different. We walked around Pike and down the waterfront and back. It is SO gorgeous out these few days that I feel bad being stuck in an air conditioned box!

Here is an annoying conversation I over heard yesterday:

Phd student: Oh my gosh, so this guy came over to my poster and we started talking and he was pissed and making fun of me because I was younger than him but I'm a phd student.
Supervisor: Oh. What was he?
Phd student: Just an undergrad. I mean, it is pretty strange that I'm younger and I'm so much faster on the academic track.
Supervisor: ...yea.

I absolutely loath people like that.

Off to another day of T cells and evasion techniques!

Yeesh...

I would love to have heard the original conversation and see what really went down.

that second part part of the conversation was totally unnecessary. he should've just kept it to himself.
