First of all, props to all you sewers out there. My mind must not be made for sewing, nor do I have the real patience for it. (Sew, unsew, sew etc) You may remember that I purchased a long sleeve, ankle 1960s dress with a high collar a few months ago (I know, MONTHS!). I had taken it apart (easy) and tried to reconstruct it into a front button up dress with braided straps. (Not so easy) The difficulty in reconstructing made me not want to attempt again for a little while longer but this past weekend, I spent some quality time with the dress and even though it looks like a floral sack right now, I promise you it has a cut! It is just the way the dress is drapped! I was going to model it on myself but since it has no buttons yet, I will save you the sight of me trying to not expose myself to the blog world. My mind is clearer now as to what needs to be done with the dress, in stead of sewing, I have learnt from my mother to light stitch by hand as corrections are easily made this way.
All I really need to do now is iron all hems, stitch with interfacing and refit to see where it doesn't fit nicely. It is actually quite nice to do something creative besides Muntedkowhai for the weekend!!
OOOO! Also, I got an email from
Craftywonderland last night that Muntedkowhai has been accepted into the July 12th show. I know, I know, I have not had much luck with craft fairs but I will not let my first two experience deter me. There has got to be a non internet market in Portland for Muntedkowhai. (I love you internets)

ooh! have fun! I applied to crafty wonderland once upon a time but didn't get in :(
you'll do great! Oh, I need to shoot you an email about the pop up wedding store... or maybe an etsy convo? I don't have much to report, but uh, I'll go do that now.
ooh the dress is coming along. i cant wait to see it on your person! that craft fair looks cool! i bet you'll have better luck this time :)
Your dress is looking great! And I admire that you took on the project at all. Sewing is just too daunting for me.
And congrats on the craft wonderland show and your perseverance. All exposure to the market is good, no?
Ohh sounds fun! Makes me want to get back into sewing!
Yay for Crafty Wonderland! I saw it in their e-newsletter and actually wondered if you were going to be there. That's great! I hope I'll be able to make it!
