oh ladies

I was cleaning up my work space the other day and came upon a scrapbook I had started a year or so ago. There are hundreds of old maternal family photos in ziplock bags waiting to be organized and pasted. There are numerous photographs of my grandmother in her earlier years and I wanted to share them with you. We often see old black and white photographs of western family lifestyles but here are some straight from a traditional Malaysian Chinese family, mine:

Grandma, 1948. Look at her hair, how lovely!

Grandma. 1950. A bit of rouge on lips and cheeks.

Grandma. Date unkown. What a lovely cheongsam.

My Popo (Grandmother in Cantonese)

And finally, my mother:

I love mum's smile.
