Come September, Muntedkowhai will be one year old. Oh my, how fast they grow up! When I first started, I had a HUGE learning curve and also my designed changed dramatically in the first 4 months. When I first started out crocheting the motifs, they were out of these bigger nylon cords that lost its stiffness after a while. I ditched those cords but in my earnests effort to have a stock of necklaces, I made LOTS of motifs out of those old cords. So, I have a drawer of lots of old motifs that weren't really hard, sitting there, gathering dust. For the majority of the year, I didn't have the want to use them, how could I? It's like going through your high school year book and cringing at an old photo of yourself. That's what I do, I cringe when I see my old designs or when I look at the old photos I used to take of my designs.
Eww!
Unfocused, harsh shadows, wrong light settings, you name it, I photographed it.
The other night, I had a weird urge to turn those ugly ducklings into something wearable, something I'd be proud to wear. I gathered some of the older olive green motifs and layered them to make the
Antiquated Moss Fly necklace:

Layers of Olive motifs (that reminds me of a fly) with a vintage brass buckle.
Available at
Muntedkowhai.
