I know I had said before that I would never take a pair of kitchen shears and go to town with my bangs but, today I did. Bangs seem to be from a faster growth region, it is too long way before your desired length of the rest of your hair.

The trick is not to just cut straight across, but angle upwards... I use dressmaker's shears. Sharp.
