Munted Musers

Yellena's creations pushes. filters. pumps. wafts. empties. twirls. lingers. spars. floats. swims.
They do everything in a liquid motion and are never static, much like their creators imagination.

Yellena James is an Oregon artist (Yay!) who originally immigrated from her native country Bosnia, recieved her BA in graphic designs at UCF and has been sending our eyes and minds on visual overloads ever since. Her pieces are soft to the eyes and the instant you lay your eyes on them, they start to move, to make motion with the colours they were given.

My first initial thought when I saw her pieces was that, the different pieces were moving so much in my mind that I had forgotten to take in the intricate patterns and details that make up each compartment. There is so much to explore in Yellena's pieces that you find your eyes droop and your smile relaxed as you take in her creations.

As a scientist, my brains tells me instantly to recognize cells, viruses, bacteriums and sea creatures. They all swim and swirl in a similar motion that I interperut from Yellena's creatures. Hence, they make her drawings to me, more familiar and lovingly nerdy. It is, as I see it, life in its full glory and beauty.

I see beetlejuice. sea urchins. gunk. tumor digest. can can dancer legs. dandelions. french shrimps. a monster crying.

To view more of Yellena's breathtaking pieces, please romantically float to her Etsy shop or blog.
