Buying local and hand made

Sarah seven's creations are simplistically feminine.

Sarah Seven has been hot alllll over Etsy with her beautifully hand made dresses hitting the Wedding season. They are dresses I would pair my upcoming wedding necklaces with because her dresses are simple and textured (oh so so so lovely!) and my necklaces are more ornate. I know most people go with silver, diamonds and pearls for weddings but I think there is something utterly beautiful about lace for a statement. Just a tiny bit of lace. I'm biased!

More sneak peak:

Makes you wonder how people splurge $800 for a David Bridal gown ( shudders ) when you can get something so original, so insanely gorgeous and so local for a very affordable price. Now that "vintage" is so "in", I'm sad and flusterd that big companies will use "vintage" as a marketing ploy as they did with "Green". However, with popularity comes some awareness despite the ploys. As with everything, we all have to be well educated consumers. This reminds me of a NPR program I was listening to the other day that guest starred Alex Sandra from Alex Sandra's Vintage Emporium. (A local vintage styler in Portland) She said what we consume now is mainly mass produced, made in China and poorly made, then in 20, 30 years time, it will become "vintage" for the sake of time definition and how sad is that. It is, very sad. Despite that, tongue in cheek, she did say that something like that will probably not stand the test of time.

Speaking of time, um, I should have been in my car on my way to work 20 minutes ago. OOops!

"David's Bridal..." I know right?! There are so many great original wedding ideas out there, why people search out massive department stores is beyond me...I can't wait to see your wedding collection! What a great idea too. I love the one with the bouquet of flowers with chains dangling off to the side.
