Dry Shampoo

The other night whilst getting ready at Katie's place for Molly's wedding, Katie showed me her dry shampoo. What an invention! Dry shampoo! I had always wanted something like this. My hair tends to be a bit oily and when I'm pressed for time, I could only imagined such a product! The day after the wedding, I went out and bought my own Rockaholic but haven't used it yet. I've read bad bad reviews about how you can get only 3 uses out of the can before it runs out. It is shampoo in spray form and when aimed at your roots, absorbs the excess oil. (My mind can't wrap around the sciences of it. Like so it absorbs the oil and then what? Will that flake off? or just make it cakey? TIGI seems to be very vague)

Have you used dry shampoo before? What are the brands you recommend?

I got some KMS stuff three weeks ago! It's great - my hair gets pretty greasy as well and I wash it everyday (and don't tell me to try not washing it as often - did that once, and went for two weeks looking like an oilslick). Now if I'm absolutely short on time in the mornings, I spray this on. It makes it look more sexy-bedhair-like, rather than Snape from HP (the books, not the Alan Rickman version).

my sister has been trying to convince me to convert to dry shampoos for years! (I have yet to try it as I have very dry hair to begin with) But she swears by it. I guess not washing your hair as often allows you to style it easier? it accepts curls and whatnot much better, but my crazy cowlick can only be tamed by a shower hehe. good luck! :D

you will have to let me know how it works.....
i have some dark hair powder by bumble and bumble that i love...you just put a little in...also good for putting your hair up.
but....they quit making it in the powder form and it's now a spray...i don't like spray...
i hope this spray works for you

oooo thank you girls for all the suggestions! if TIGI doesn't work so well, I'll have to try your recommendations!
I wouldn't use it regularly, just as a out of the door kinda thing.

@teresa, i hear you on the oily hair. i have to wash it every other day. it becomes intolerable!

You have to let us know if this works.

My bangs always get greasy and I just put baby powder on them. This dry shampoo idea sounds good though...

from the other bueno sister: My boss just had to fix a ladies hair that just started breaking about two inches from her scalp from using dry shampoo excessively. I think it was originally made for people in hospitals who can't get out of bed to wash their hair...be careful too much makes the hair crap out!

Woah! That last comment is a bit scary. :) My roommate has been using the TIGI Rockstar one and she loves it. I have the bumble & bumble spray one, but I think it's kind of gross because it actually sprays color on your hair too.

I'd love to find one that works well...as I too am afflicted with the oily hair!

@buenobueno: ouch ouch ouch! that sounds terrible!
i don't think dry shampoo should ever replace washing your hair.

@elia: you always have such pretty hair! i never notice it being oily!
