Etsy Neck Warmers

Once cooler weather starts its slow intrusion (or when the fall catalogues of Anthropologie arrives), I always ooo and ahh at the neat neck warmers that pop up every year. Last year, it was the ultra thick, big and bold cowls and how wonderful to have warm knits! This year, I scoured Etsy for non knitted neck warmers:

Multnomah to Wahkeena falls hike

Yesterday, my god brother, his wife and mum and I went hiking from Multnomah Falls to Wahkeena Falls. It was a pleasant and visually breathtaking, 5 mile hike. We hiked very leisurely for 5 hours, spending time admiring the numerous waterfalls that lined the hike and taking photos, dipping our feet in the cool spring waters. It has been a month since my aunt passed so this walk was for her because there was no way you could not love life when you walk in the greatness of the NW wilderness. Here are some green green photos for your Monday eyes:

In all the shades of green, a vibrant red popped out

How was your weekend? Did you get to savor the summer?

That's our song Earrings

That's our song Earrings.

Vintage raw brass chains.

$15

eeep!! Clucky alert!!!

Came by Oeuf thanks to OhJoy! and just gushed at the sight of their collection! Sex of the baby is two weeks ago so my itchy fingers are rather itchy! I want to crochet that baby something, something adorable! I've only really crochet one cardigan for my friend Kim's baby but it'll be really neat to crochet one for my sister's bubs. Hopefully, they'll come out as cute as these:

I mean, come on, that sweater has angel wings!!

The Cerulean Collection

Muntedkowhai has exciting news! Each month, Muntedkowhai will come out with a small collection (5-7 pieces) that are all of one colour. Some pieces are limited editions and some are one of a kind. Whilst putting this collection together, I made what possibly is my favourite crochet piece without vintage buttons, the Lace Taco. So expect more Lace Tacos in different colours. September's colour is Navy Blue, just in time for Fall.

Finally, a close up of the Lace Taco:

Crochet circular motif bend up and secured resulting in a dimensional piece of jewelry.

Collection now available

Lace tornado

It looks better than it really is, but there are so many necklaces strewn all over my table that I'm actually kind of scared to go near it! Perhaps I need another rod to organize my pieces. I've been retaking photographs of necklaces by the window so it's been a mess! My objective tonight is to clean up, organize!
I did organize my computer which took me an entire day and a half. Thanks to my friend Tania who suggested I back up onto an external drive. My iBook is only 20gb. I know!! Terrible isn't it. It's been running super slow because I'm using photoshop, illustrator and all these other programs with huge files on the desktop.

I know it's only Thursday but I am really looking forward to the weekend because:

* Escher exhibition on Saturday
* Followed by Paella goodness! Oysters!
* Hiking
* BBQ at Marty's.

Portland weather is perfect for Ovejanegra

The past few days, the weather has become more cloudy and gloomy and generally, more Portland. It is actually quite nice. I like dressing in cool weather, not frigid cold but just right type of temperature. I wore a light tunic with black tights and my Diesel boots. Yes, when the Diesel boots are out, the cold weather is here. I love my boots! Best 2008 purchase, ever.

Could these insanely gorgeous knits by the best 2009 purchase? I totally want one!! .... or two

Etsy in Drapes

My first drape dress was a double surprise. Drape dresses are weird because they don't look too enticing on a hanger but when you try it on, the drapes just, they just, ahhh.... so very pretty. When my step mother came over to Oregon for my sister's wedding, she brought along with her, her new drape dress. It was black underneath with a dusty grey light weight fabric that was a bit sandy and draped like a goddess. Well, turns out, my step mother was a bit big for the dress. I was not too big for the dress. I got the dress, with a huge smile! Actually, my first thought was: urgh, weird. What a weird shape. However, I am never the one to turn down free things, especially dresses so I tried it on and BOY! it was fabulous!

Drape clothing has a way of changing shape and movement which is so cool. I had to skim the surface of drape handmade items on Etsy to share:
