BRRRRRRR

It's starting to get cold here in Portland as she gets her stereotype on. (ie gloom and precipitation) I love summer because I can wear dresses but as winter approaches, I'm discovering my wardrobe is in serious lack of winter dresses. I'm not a huge fan of tightly fitted dresses, I like a bit of tent action and so I scoured some sweater dresses that I'm adoring right now. The great thing about wearing sweater dresses? You get to wear super cute tights.

Etsy has some pretty wicked sweater dresses:

Tunic knit

Gray Knitted Dress

Pocket Dress
ok, Lyptis is officially on my watch list. These dresses look SO comfy and I love the colours!

Modcloth and Anthropologie:

Woolen sweater dress

Soft as a feather dress

Lolland Sweater dress
(my heart melted when I saw this in the catalogue)

ah i want some!

Etsy favourites hopping

Do you go Etsy Favourite hopping? I do this alot. When I see a seller with impeccable taste or sense of humor, I love to go see what their favourites are. It's like seeing what their bedroom is, it's a bit personal but very telling. After a few etsy favourites hopping, I found this:

Captivating Etsy jewelry designers

Etsy is saturated up to the cranium with jewelry designers, some run of the mill and some that actually makes you want to buy them because it requires skills and not just assembling. I have hearted these two sellers for a while now and would like to share them with you:

Armor Jewelry

I first found Armor Jewelry when I was doing research for jewelry lookbooks and Armor's simple flowing lines captivated me. It is body jewelry, it drapes and subtly decorates:

Colour blind smarties

When I first started Muntedkowhai, I wanted to take it into the chinese knotting direction. (Suffice to say, I had no patience for Chinese knotting and gave up in a huff!!)
Chinese knotting used to function as buttons for traditional chinese clothing but Colorblind smarties has turned it into an eye catching piece of jewelry:

Etsy Neck Warmers

Once cooler weather starts its slow intrusion (or when the fall catalogues of Anthropologie arrives), I always ooo and ahh at the neat neck warmers that pop up every year. Last year, it was the ultra thick, big and bold cowls and how wonderful to have warm knits! This year, I scoured Etsy for non knitted neck warmers:

Mata Hari Hood by AnonymousAgent

Summer cotton linen scarf by Pinka

Yellow pages logo scarf by Quitesimply

Grey and Silk Ruffled scarf by Lanadeflor

Vintage silk scarf by Betaaccessories

and the best for last *ahem* christmas is coming *ahem*

Now onto packing...

Phew! I've spent the entire weekend photographing, listing and organizing my pieces, preparing for when I leave, has been taxing! Listing and taking photographs take alot of time! I have not had alot of time to make new pieces, they are mostly pieces from Theas that has been returned to me as my consignment with her has been put on hold till Spring. (Business was horrible in Dec and I figured I need the pieces for when I'm gone)

These are now available at Muntedkowhai.

Now I'm off to pack for my trip!!
3 more days!!!!!

Oh the white stuff, how I love you so

What a perfect Sunday! I woke up to the sound of a car raving and I excitedly pushed my curtains apart to find the entire neighbourhood covered in gorgeous white snow! I rushed to get all my snowboarding gear ready for some urban boarding but mostly for just some silly fun in the snow! There is something so very magical about untouched new snow that makes everything look so beautiful. It is quite horrible of me but I can never let an undisturbed blanket of snow in peace, I have to ruin it for everyone else. As I'm blogging about this, I hear laughter and joyous screams from children which is so delightful and heartwarming. Our christmas tree is up and ready to be dressed, the snow is still coming down (fingers crossed for no work tomorrow) and the holiday excitement has begun.

3 inches of urban boarding never works out for anyone.

Next time boardy, you'll be up on the mountain

The past week, I've been making more Admiral on Leave necklaces because I've just fallen in love with the design of it. I'm always eager to try out different colours and buttons/baubles and for the Admiral, it seems like everything looks oh so pretty! I'm thinking of doing a giveaway on one of the Admirals, so stay tune! Here is what I've been up to this weekend in Muntedkowhai land:

Check back on Monday for information on a possible giveaway!
